Perfect. At last. Simple, streight forward tool. Click, drag, release - get your dimentions copied to clipboard. Just what I was looking for. Even works on retinan. And a bonus - with dark menu bar the menu bar icon is white. (seem to be a big problem for many spare-bedroom-developerz) MacBook Pro Retina. OSX Sierra 10.12 (16A323)

I bought the app hoping that the full-screen crosshairs could just be left on and that normal interaction with my software would be possible. Unfortunately, this is not the case. When the crosshairs are invoked, you can perform a lasso measurement, then the mode is exited. I did contact the developer and am hoping this general cursor use can be implemented in a future version. (If that is the case, I will update my review and rating).

If you need quick and simple but precise measurements, or if you need to check alignment in a web page or PDF while creating it in code, whether on the desktop or in an app displayed full screen with mission control — this is the best there is! Most ruler apps don’t work when what you need to measure is displayed full screen using mission control. Euclid does!

very easy to use, and very precise. would like to have an option to fix the zoom zone at a screen corner (see pic pick on windows for that) Thx

Ever since Yosemite introduced widgets in the new Today sidebar it has been apparent that the good old dashboard with HTML style widgets is on its way out the door. One of the only things I used the dashboard for was in developer mode that let widgets be used freefloating on the desktop. And then I only used a screen ruler and a stop watch. Euclid is the perfect replacement for my screen ruler needs. Its super simple, invokable with a key command that makes you feel as though its a sibling to the screen capturing key commands. I wouldnt mind having a few more options, but as it is its very useful. And the price is right!

Works perfectly as shown, even in wonky apps like Adobe Photoshop. Very lightweight. I used it to replace all my screen ruler apps/browser extensions.

Im constantly using my screen grab tool to take quick pixel measurements, with the unfortunate side effect of accidentally taking lots of screenshots. This app basically solves that problem, and does so pretty much perfectly.

Very light-weight and works exactly as described! However, since this tool is for those that care about pixel-perfect it would be nice have a small window offset from the cursor that shows a zoomed-in view (5x or so?) -- just to ensure you are measuring exactly what you care about and nothing more. Thanks again for an awesome app!

There nothing more you can ask for, simple and fast with the keystroke. Evoke the ruler, check alignment, then dismiss it. This app rules!

Works well, but one tweak would help me a lot--the crosshairs do not appear to be a single pixel wide. At normal 100% view, they look fine, but when zoomed in to, say, 800%, I can see that there is a faint, mostly transparent colored line on either side of the main guidelines (antialiasing?). Try measuring a dark or black box. These faint lines get in my way, and make it difficult to select the exact starting/ending points that I want. A very minor point, yes, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Another reviewer requested a magnified area to help with precise selection. That would work for me, too, but without it, I just zoom in on the whole screen, and thats when I noticed these extra faint lines. Another request would be to provide the option of INCLUDING the crosshair lines in the measurement, because thats the way the Macs screen shot tool works, and Im used to it. AND, an option for OPACITY of the crosshairs would be sweet--Id make my crosshairs bright yellow with about a 50% opacity so that I could see whats behind them while Im positioning them. With all those changes, this would be a six-star app! :-)

You can customize the hotkey and grid color. Press the hotkey to show the grid, and press the keys again to hide. +5

The new update makes euclid even better, i’m really happy with the zoom feature, it was really necessary

This update is amazing! I really needed this zoom. Thank you so much. I’m also very glad that multiple displays is better. Good work! I love the app! I highly recommend it if you are looking for something like this.

I’m using Mavericks and it works perfectly. Awesome little utility, I only wish I had found it sooner.

This app is simple, clean, and does just what I needed, no more, no less. Measures an area of the screen and then immediately gets out of the way until needed again. The optional zoom window is very helpful for fine tuning. Two requests to make it even better:. - when the crosshairs are near the left edge or bottom of the screen, the zoom window can go off screen, which makes it useless! Could it pop to the other side of the crosshairs under these conditions? - add ability to show physical pixels as well as screen logical points on a Retina display. Some apps size items in one vs the other.

Use Euclid and stop unnecessary screenshot files for learn object’s size on screen.

This app is really great for developers and graphic designers. PIXEL PERFECT.

This app, as simple as it is, is indeed truly amazing at what it does! I would just really LOVE to see the last measurement info x*y in tray next to an icon.

It would be great if clicking on the icon in the toolbar would launch the app.

Have to say this is a great tool to have. For a long time I’ve had to use a screenshot in order to get measurements, which worked fine. Only issue I’m finding is that Euclid gets the incorrect measurement when used on Retina screens. For example, Euclid will get a measurement of 440px whereas taking a screenshot would get about 220px. Not sure if this is intentional since I know if I took a screenshot of that 220px area, it would actually turn out to be a 440px image on a normal screen.
